Engineered different. From the mechanism up.

Angular grippers have advantages. Parallel grippers have advantages. SusGrip is a new hybrid gripper that has both.

Differentiation

Built Different. Work Differently.

A new hybrid gripper class - where the mechanism, the intelligence, and the safety are not features. They are the design.

01

Scott-Russell + four-bar parallelogram - a patented hybrid, a new gripper class

SusGrip combines two classical mechanisms - taking the large stroke range of angular grippers and the parallel jaw precision of parallel grippers, and leaving out what made each one a compromise.

02

Absolute encoder - built into every unit

Jaw position retained across power-offs, e-stops, and collisions. No homing routine required.

Architecturally required for humanoid and mobile manipulator deployment - platforms where stopping to calibrate is not an option.

03

No crossing geometry - no pinch point can exist

No pinch point - the hazard is eliminated by the mechanism, not suppressed by firmware.

Designed for cobots and humanoids working alongside people - no guarding required, no firmware to fail.

More Stroke than Body Length

The hybrid design packs more jaw travel than the body is long - a ratio no comparable parallel gripper achieves.

More Stroke than Body Length

BEFORE & AFTER

As a new hybrid gripper class, SusGrip resolves the trade-offs that define every conventional gripper.

Typical gripper

Stroke limited by body size

Contact point shifts with jaw position

Needs calibration on startup

Pinch point at arm crossing

SusGrip gripper

Stroke exceeds body - 1.12× by design

Fixed contact geometry - any position, any part

Absolute encoder - wake up and go

No crossing geometry - hazard doesn't exist

Case Study

Apple - One Gripper, Multiple Product Lines

The Challenge

Apple needed a single gripper to handle their full device lineup on the same production line - from iPhone to iPad - without stopping to change tools or fingers between runs.

Apicoo's Solution

SusGrip XL was the answer. The same patented hybrid mechanism - Scott-Russell linkage for large parallel stroke in a compact body, four-bar parallelogram to keep finger direction unchanged - scaled to a 230mm stroke range.

One gripper. Both devices. No tool change, no finger swap, no line stop.
